Fascinating book – well written and offering clear, profound insights to the ‘mystery’ of human development and learning. To be human is to learn as part of a learning universe. What implications has this for my behaviour as a spouse, a parent, a civil servant, a citizen and a Christian disciple? In many ways, I have been responsible for over-consumption, under-investment in my family and in my communities – I have bought into the institutional modes and eschewed risk when risk was demanded. I settled for comfortable living and thought paths when I might have risen to the challenge? No good just blaming the system, the Government, the People, the Church etc I am part of each of these.
