Terms of Use

Use of the site

21learn.org is a research publication. You may read, link to, quote with attribution, and cite anything published here. You may not republish whole pieces without permission, misrepresent restored material as your own work, or scrape the site to train commercial products while stripping attribution.

Archive material and third party rights

The restored archive includes works the Initiative originally published with their authors' cooperation, and some, such as the 1991 cognitive apprenticeship article by Collins, Brown, and Holum, whose underlying rights remain with their original authors and publishers. Restored editions state their provenance. If you hold rights in a restored work and want it amended or removed, contact the editors and we will act promptly.

Citation and quotation

Cite restored pieces by their original author and year where stated, followed by this site's address and your access date. New editorial pieces may be cited as the work of the 21st Century Learning Initiative's editors. Quotation within fair dealing needs no permission.

No warranty and liability

Content is provided as is. Restorations aim to be faithful to their sources and provenance lines are checked against archived captures, but we cannot warrant every historical detail; corrections are welcomed and acted on. We are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of material published here.

Changes

Revised terms appear on this page with the date of revision. This version accompanies the site's 2026 restoration.
